Painting and watercolor exhibition by Soraya Estefana in Valdepeñas until January 2013

The last November 9 it took place at the Café Local in Valdepeñas (Spain) the opening of the paintings and watercolors exhibition by the young Spanish artist Soraya Estefana Gómez, whose works will be showcased to public until mid January.

The exhibition counts on collections like “Niebla, lluvia y charcos” (“Fog, rain and puddles”), f such different materials as paraffin, wax and even wine -so intimately linked to life in Valdepeñas county- , all carefuly used in several watercolor ouvres.

Though the former works were conceived in small sizes, there are other pieces developed in bigger formats like the paintings collection “Ciclos vitales” (“Vital cycles”), that let Soraya Estefana play with concepts and ideas as close to her motherland as the vineyards and the ever lasting wind moulins since the Mancha´s collective imaginarium of worldwide known Don Quixote -written 400 years ago by Miguel de Cervantes-, formerly dedicated to produce bread and nowadays focused on the generation of electricity through wind energy.

Three paintings to appreciate the Mancha´s (that real or imaginary land…) spring, summer and fall season -we are afraid there is not much white winter in the area though it´s plenty of morning ice and fog-, vaguely reminding us of the idea of the colosal lighting game of Claude Monet in his masterworks series on the Cathedral of Rouen.

The showcase is reaching a remarkable feedback on media, papers and radio stations, both local and regional, as well as in social media on Facebook and Twitter .
